Client: Mad Crazy Flowers
Think about the highest cliche for hard work. Bee. Ant. Bunny. Roll them all up, stuff them in a bouquet with oversized hamburger sized dahlias and then wrap that all in an elegant wool blanket, drizzle with ample honey and dump a whole can full of Vision on top. That’s Melody, proprietress of Mad Crazy Flowers.
She’s a flower farmer and designer. Farmer Florist, they’re called. She and her partner started out growing vegetables for a small CSA in the Adirondacks and now cultivate around 40 acres of diversified vegetables for 500+ CSA members and Melody has gone full time into flower growing and arranging.
Melody is a farmer first. When operating a farming enterprise, chaos is prevalent. In the heighth of the season, there is no choice but to run from task to chore to meal to task. It is a superlative state. Challenging, rife with emotion. The bounty, the beauty, is intense. It is immense. It’s mad crazy.
This is a collection of photographs from a wedding for which Melody grew the flowers and designed the arrangements.
